PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To objectively calculate a degree that how many input errors of a number main body are found by check digit. SOLUTION: The device for deriving the number of deterioration in error detection has: a first basic inspection number deriving part 24 which derives a first basic inspection digit CDV1 based on a genuine number main body X; a first derived check digit deriving part 27 which derives a first derived check digit CDV2 (=CDV1+α) different from the first basic inspection digit CDV1; a second basic inspection digit deriving part 34 which derives a second basic inspection digit CDV1' by the same method as the first basic inspection digit deriving part based on an error number main body Xerr which generates a transposition error or a double transposition error; a second derived inspection digit deriving part 37 which derives a second derived inspection digit CDV2' different from the second basic inspection digit CDV1' and a number of first error detection deterioration counter 44 which counts frequency in which the first basic inspection digit CDV1 is equal to the second derived inspection digit CDV2'.
