PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a toner that improves low temperature fixability and offset resistance exhibits excellent, long-term storability, and durability and exhibits excellent glossiness when used as a color toner, and to provide the toner obtained by the above method. SOLUTION: In the method for manufacturing the dry toner containing at least a toner binder, a colorant, and a wax, the toner composition is dissolved or swollen and dispersed into an organic solvent and is left standing after the dispersion in an aqueous medium. The wax is included in the form of particulates into the toner particles and exists over the entire part from the neighborhood of the toner surface (from the toner surface toward the central direction of the toner, the portion of the depth to the point internally dividing an optional point on the surface of the toner to the center of the toner by 1:2 ) toward the inside (the portion from the internally dividing point to the center of the toner) and the concentration of the wax existing near the toner surface is greater than the concentration of the wax existing within the toner.
