摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal device with display memory functionality that can hold an alignment state of liquid crystal molecules and maintain a displayed gray scale without applying a voltage signal between a pair of electrodes between which the liquid crystal space is sandwiched thereafter once the gray scale is displayed by coordinating liquid crystal molecules in a liquid crystal space. SOLUTION: An intermediate layer 3 having many pores 6 formed is sandwiched between a rear substrate 1 and a front substrate 2 and the pores 6 are filled with liquid crystals 8. A control part applies an AC voltage of tens of Hz between a common electrode 9 and a display electrode 12 to change a planar alignment state to a tilt alignment state and applies an AC voltage of≥6 kHz to change the tilt alignment state to the planar alignment state. Even when the potential difference between the common electrode 9 and display electrode 12 is eliminated after a desired gray scale is displayed, the gray-scale display of a pixel 11 is maintained until next writing.
