ELECTRIC BLOWER AND VACUUM CLEANER USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric blower with reduced noise which can largely reduce high frequency sound, while maintaining efficiency with compact muffling structure. SOLUTION: The electric blower comprises: an impeller 5; an air guide 7; an electric motor 9 driving a rotational shaft 8; a fan case 12 having an intake port 10 at its front face center part and an exhaust port 11 at its side face, and fixed to the electric motor 9 with a state of housing the impeller 5 and the air guide 7; a soundproof tube 14 having an exhaust port 13 and fixed to be airtight to a front face of the fan case 12; and a muffler 16a disposed between a rear face of the electric motor 9 and the soundproof tube 14 and having two narrow recess parts 15a which are the same in width toward the rotational shaft 8 and are different in depth and which are on its circumference. Thereby, a particular frequency of high-frequency sound waves leaked from the exhaust port 11 of the side face of the fan case 12 and the exhaust port 18 of the motor 9 can be reduced by resonance effects of each of two narrow recess parts 15a provided in the muffler 16a when the sound waves are propagated in an air passage toward the soundproof tube 13 of the sound proof tube 14.
