The invention relates to the methods for dehydration of loose dielectric materials, in particular for dehydration of powdery sodium iodide intended for monocrystal growing. According to a method the salt is placed in an ampoule, the ampoule is vacuumized at a room temperature to pressure of 25-30 millimeter of mercury, its treatment is carried out by the microwave field, a temperature is supported at the level of 25-35 DEGREE C and pressure - at a level of 25-30 millimeter of mercury. The hydrolysis reaction is inhibited by these experimentallydetermined technological parameters of sodium iodide treatment and in such a way the anhydrous oxygen-containing product practically free of admixtures is obtained. The decreasing of temperature condition of sodium iodide treatment promotes the decreasing of process energy intensity.
