The invention relates to the means for mineral dressing, mainly for dressing high-magnetic ores of magnetite type. A magnetic separator contains a magnetic system, which is formed from magnetic blocksplaced on a basis from nonmagnetic material. The blocks are turned to each other by similar poles, and between them ferromagnetic wedges are placed with the apex toward the centre, and with the basis - to the rim of drum. The adjustment of magnetic field strength in the working area on the rim of the separator drum is ensured by adjustment mechanism, which contains a worm gear, a cam and a ratchet-gear, which is placed on the axle of the drum, those deflects the magnetic system from the vertical position during rotation of worm to one side, and during rotation of worm to other side the magnetic system is lowered from the rim of the separator drum. The invention provides for optimum selection of magnetic field strength in the working area ofmagnetic separator.
