<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device in which a display module can perform processing meeting data while reducing the load of a processing section of a control unit. <P>SOLUTION: The display device is equipped with the control unit and the display module. The control unit has a processing section, a memory section, and a data transmission section, and the display module has a data reception section, a frame memory, a display controller, and a display section. The processing section first writes the control data and the image data into the memory section in prescribed order. Next, the data transmission section successively transmits the data stored into the memory section to the data signal reception section. Next, the data reception section identifies the received data, and sets the display controller according to the control data if the control data is identified to be included in the received data. When the received data is identified to include the image data, the image data is stored into a frame memory.
