<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pedestrian protector of a vehicle which well protects the legs of a pedestrian colliding with the front of the vehicle, and a method for easily tuning the load characteristic of the protector. <P>SOLUTION: A plate 12 is so disposed on the lower part of the front of the vehicle as to extend longitudinally of the vehicle. The plate 12 is composed of a front portion 26, a rear portion 28, and a middle portion 30. The front portion 26, at least a part of which is projected form the front of the vehicle, has rigidity larger than that of the rear portion 28 fixed to the vehicle, and the middle portion 30, which is between the front portion 26 and the rear portion 28, has rigidity smaller than that of the front portion 26 and larger than that of the rear portion 28. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
