A ratchet hand tool includes a handle and a head in which a through hole is defined there. A driving member is rotatably received in the through hole. A recess is defined in an inner periphery of the through hole and a ratchet mechanism is received in the recess. The ratchet mechanism includes a first member with a curved and smooth surface, a second member with teeth, and a spring member is connected between the first and second members. The teeth of the second member are engaged with the teeth in the driving member so that the teeth of the driving member that are in contact with the curved and smooth surface of the first member are not worn out during operation.
