[MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] At a moment in time when the trailing edge of one dog (11) adjacent to a light projection/reception unit (22) is detected, the deviation distance of the trailing edge of an other dog (11) from a reference position is measured simultaneously by a displacement measuring unit (23) and calculated by a controller (20). When that value exceeds a threshold, an operation signal is outputted to a painting gun (24). When the dog (11) comes in front of the painting gun (24), paint is ejected from the painting gun (24) to the dog (11) and a mark indicative of one pitch to be replaced is put on the dog (11).
