<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pigment dispersion having excellent depolarization characteristics, capable of forming color pixels having high contrast, and having excellent storage stability, a coloring resin composition containing the pigment dispersion, a color filter made from the coloring resin composition, and a liquid-crystal display device produced by using the color filter. <P>SOLUTION: The dispersion is a colorant dispersion containing (A) a colorant and (B) a dispersant, wherein the colorant (A) contains a pigment having a crystallite size of ≤140Å in terms of the value calculated by using the Scherrer equation from a half-value width determined by X-ray diffractometry, and the dispersant (B) contains (a) a nitrogen-containing graft copolymer and/or acrylic block copolymer.
