PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a polyester resin composition having more improved gas barrier properties and to provide a method for producing the resin composition and use thereof. SOLUTION: (C) This polyester resin composition comprises (A) a polyester composed of 5-85 mol% of terephthalic acid constituent units and 15-95 mol% of isophthalic acid constituent units based on the total dicarboxylic acid constituent units and 25-100 mol% of ethylene glycol constituent units and 0-75 mol% of 1,3-bis(2-hydroxyethoxy)benzene constituent units based on the total diol constituent units and (B) a layer inorganic filler.
