PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for assembling a gas turbine engine. SOLUTION: The method for assembling the turbine engine assembly 10 comprises providing a core gas turbine engine 12 including a high-pressure compressor 26, a combustor 28, and a turbine 30; and coupling a double counter-rotating fan assembly 16 to the core gas turbine engine such that air discharged from the counter-rotating fan assembly 16 is channelled directly into an inlet 104 of a compressor of the gas turbine engine.
