PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical semiconductor module and its assembling method for suppressing a decrease in optical coupling efficiency caused by an optical axis misalignment of a lens, and for stabilizing optical coupling efficiency. SOLUTION: A semiconductor laser 101, a first lens 102 for making a light emitted from the semiconductor laser 101 parallel rays, a second lens 103 for collecting the parallel rays, and a semiconductor optical modulator 104 arranged at a position where the light collected by the second lens 103 is coupled to a light guide, are mounted on a submount 105.
