PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an absolute position signal, using an electric power supply transformer, a position detecting coil, and a magnetic head formed by a thin film process. SOLUTION: This absolute position detector of the present invention is constituted to form the electric power supply transformer 5, an excitation signal supply part 10, the position detecting coil 20, and a signal processing circuit part 31 provided on a fixing member 30, by the thin film process, and is constituted to detect a position of the magnetic head 1 by the position detecting coil 20.
