PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope system capable of always outputting an image with excellent quality regardless of the characteristics of output of a plurality of output devices for outputting images even when images are transmitted between different output devices, etc. SOLUTION: When a printed image display mode is selected, an image signal processed for the output of a printer 60 is transmitted from a printer image quality conversion circuit 52 to the printer 60 and an image quality reverse conversion circuit 54. The image signal for the printer is converted to a monitor image signal applicable to the output of a monitor 70 by the image quality reverse conversion circuit 54. As the monitor image signal is transmitted to the monitor 70, an image of a subject suitable for the output of the monitor 70, the image of the the same subject as the subject image to be printed, is displayed on the monitor 70 before printing of the subject image by the printer 60.
