An image information generator which suppresses coloring and character deformation between contiguous strokes by an easy method when a character or a graphic is generated. The image information generator sets a subpixel corresponding to the frame portion of a character or a graphic as a frame subpixel and when there are two adjacent frame subpixels along a predetermined direction, luminance level of a plurality of subpixels located between the two adjacent frame subpixels is flattened based on the distance between the two adjacent frame subpixels.
