<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oxygen sensor element which can inhibit densification of a measuring electrode and excels in gas response. <P>SOLUTION: In this oxygen sensor element, a measuring electrode and a reference electrode consisting of metal/ceramic particles are respectively provided on a principal surface opposite to a zirconia solid electrolyte substrate, and a ceramic protective layer is formed on surface of the above measuring electrode. It is characterized that the above measuring electrode is composed of at least two electrode layers different in a compounding ratio between metal particles and ceramic particles, where content of the above ceramic particles in the surface-most electrode layer is higher than that of the opposite electrode layer on the solid electrolyte substrate-most side. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
