<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide paste for electron emitting source having a small amount of environmental load by enhancing adhesion of a carbon nanotube and a cathode electrode by low melting point glass frit containing no lead, and to provide an electron emitting element using the same. <P>SOLUTION: The paste for the electron emitting source contains the carbon nanotube and glass powder, and the glass powder contains Bi<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>of 45-86 wt.%.
