<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric power steering device capable of reducing the colliding sounds of an idler pulley generated when the rotating direction of a belt type decelerating mechanism is inverted. <P>SOLUTION: The electric power steering device 10 is equipped with the belt type decelerating mechanism 12 to decelerate the rotation of an electric motor 11 generating a steering assist force and a drive converting device 14 to convert the output rotation of the decelerating mechanism 12 into a movement in the axial direction of a steering shaft 13 for vehicle wheels, wherein the decelerating mechanism 12 has an input pulley 22 attached to the rotary shaft 11a of the motor 11, an output pulley 23 fitted on the steering shaft 13, a toothed belt 24 set over between the input 22 and the output pulley 23, and the idler pulley 25 to press a toothed belt 24 for giving it a tension, in which rolling bearing(s) 32 to support the idler pulley 25 rotatably receives the thrust force of the idler pulley 25 through a resilient member 36. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
