PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily take out a crushing unit or the like from a hopper. SOLUTION: In a garbage treatment apparatus, an opening side of a basket 14 is mounted with an upper lid 21. An upper lid engagement means 30 is provided extending over the upper lid, basket, and hopper 3. The upper engagement means is a mechanism part for engaging the upper lid with the basket and holler, or the basket. The peripheral surface of the basket is formed with an engagement groove with an inverted T-shape. The inner peripheral surface of the hopper is formed with a locking groove. The locking groove is a groove for locking the upper lid with the basket and hopper respectively, and the locking of the upper lid to them operates the garbage treatment apparatus. Part of the engagement groove is a bottomed locking groove. When the upper lid is pulled up in a state of engaging a locking pawl attached to the upper lid with the locking groove, the basket together with the crushing unit can be pulled up from the hopper.
