PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an outdoor unit capable of laying refrigerant piping extending from a heat exchanger later even when a heat exchanger extends fully to an upper part width of a floor plate. SOLUTION: In this outdoor unit 11 comprising the heat exchanger 19 and an air blower 20 at an upper part of the floor plate 60 of a body 11a, the heat exchanger 19 is disposed almost throughout the whole width of the floor plate 60, the floor plate 60 is provided with a step portion 65 projecting to an upper part and positioned at a lower part of the heat exchanger 19, and a piping space 61 is formed at a lower side of the step portion 65 in a state of being communicated from a front part to a rear part.
