PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary valve in which the tightening work of a packing pressing member can be easily and reliably performed and tightening can be quickly performed while reducing interference with other parts by a compact structure. SOLUTION: A packing 4 is mounted to the outer periphery of a stem 3 for turning a valve element 2 built in a valve body 1, and a pressing member 5 for pressing the packing 4 is provided with a cylindrical tightening member 6 extended in an interlocked state to provide the rotary valve with the tightening member 6 arranged in a tightening possible region 7 above the valve body 1.
