PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for improving a ground such as a soft ground and a ground improvement method in which the ground is improved by using the device. SOLUTION: This ground improvement device comprises at least a gear type power branching multi-spindle device liftable along the leader 1 of an oar, an auger motor suspended liftably along the leader 2 and having the rotating shaft connected to one transmission shaft of the gear type power branching multi-spindle device, a rod connected to at least one transmission shaft of the gear type power branching multi-spindle device, and a stirring blade shaft connected to the lower end of the rod.
