PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a diamond and/or cBN grinding stone using a bonding material to be formed by carbonizing and baking a bonding material precursor composed of thermosetting resin, which diamond and/or cBN grinding stone can achieve the grinding quality corresponding to the abrasive grain size by arranging abrasive grains in the bonding material in a high dispersion state. SOLUTION: The abrasive grains are composed of diamond and/or cBN, and the bonding material for bonding the abrasive grains are composed of amorphous structure carbon formed by carbonizing and baking the bonding material precursor composed of thermosetting resin having a molecular weight of 3,000 or more. When the abrasive grains are dispersed into the bonding material precursor, the bonding material precursor is liquefied by heating the bonding material precursor or by dissolving it in an organic solvent. In this state, the abrasive grains are mixed with the bonding material precursor at the level that the abrasive grains are dispersed inside the molecules of the bonding material precursor. After the carbonizing and baking of the bonding material precursor, a grinding stone composed of a sintered body, which shows in the high dispersion state without causing the concentration of the abrasive grains along the surface of the amorphous carbon particles, can be obtained.
