PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biaxially oriented polyester film having uniform heat resistance and dimensional stability capable of withstanding metal vapor deposition, capable of also corresponding to deep drawing and having transparency of a degree not damaging the appearance of a molded product after thermoforming. SOLUTION: The biaxially oriented polyester film for the molding member is composed of a laminated structure of at least three layers and characterized in that the melting point is 246-270°C, the crystal size of a (100) surface obtained by X-ray diffraction intensity is 6.0-8.0 nm, the elongations in the longitudinal and lateral directions of the polyester film at 190°C are 150-300% and the coefficients (fn) of surface orientation of both sides of the polyester film are 0.08-0.14.
