[PROBLEMS] To provide an optical pickup device where a plurality of reflections reflected from an optical medium can be detected by a common photodetector so as to perform the recording and playing of the optical medium where lights having a plurality of wavelengths can be used. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] An optical pickup device comprises a first emitter for emitting a first light having a first wavelength, a second emitter for emitting a second light having a second wavelength, a third emitter for emitting a third light having a third wavelength, an optical-axis adjuster which can adjust the optical axis of the return light of the light emitted from the emitter and reflected from an optical recording medium, and one photodetector which receives the return light transmitted through the optical-axis adjuster. The first and third emitters are so positioned that the optical axes of the first and third lights are almost aligned. The optical-axis adjuster adjusts the optical axis of the return light of the second light. The one photodetector receives the return lights of the first, second, and third lights.
