<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oxygen sensor capable of securing an introduction amount sufficient to detect an oxygen concentration, without increasing flow resistance in a pipe. <P>SOLUTION: An outside diameter dimension D of a protector 12 and a projection length L of the protector 12 into the exhaust pipe 1 are set to bring a ratio of a product (D×L) of the outside diameter dimension D and the projection length L to a flow passage cross-sectional area S of the exhaust pipe 1 within about 2.5%, and the introduction amount sufficient to detect oxygen concentration by the oxygen sensor 10 is secured thereby without increasing the flow resistance of exhaust gas flowing in the exhaust pipe 1, so as to enhance responsiveness. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
