<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shock absorbing material for a packaging box which can be used repeatedly, occupies no storage space for reuse or the like, can be easily arranged in the packaging box, and can exactly fix an article in the packaging box. <P>SOLUTION: The shock absorbing material has a plate-like base material 11 smaller than a shape of an opening 77 of the packaging box 71 and having stiffness, and a plate-like shock absorbing material 21 laminated on one surface of the base material 11 and composed of a flexible raw material. A dimension f1 between at least a pair of sides 22 and 23 of the shock absorbing material 21 is larger than a dimension W of the opening 77 of the packaging box 71, the dimension W corresponding to the sides.
