PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display device is provided to improve the transmission by extending the arrangement of the branches of pixel electrodes and relative electrodes while removing the body parts thereof for moving liquid crystal molecules even in branch edge areas. CONSTITUTION: A liquid crystal display device includes a transparent insulating substrate, gate bus lines(1) disposed in one direction on the substrate, data bus lines(3) perpendicularly intersecting the gate bus lines for defining unit pixel areas, thin film transistors(5) disposed in the intersections between the gate and data bus lines, relative electrodes(19) disposed with a predetermined angle on the unit pixel areas and having a plurality of branches(19b), pixel electrodes(20) having a plurality of branches(20b) alternately disposed with the branches of the relative electrodes on a same flat surface, and common bus lines(17) disposed in one direction below the centers of the pixel electrodes via an insulating layer to be in parallel with the gate bus lines, wherein the relative electrodes are disposed alternately with the common bus lines and further include relative electrode contact bars(19a) electrically connected to the branches, the pixel electrodes are disposed in parallel on the same surface with the data bus lines and further include relative pixel electrode contact bars(20a) electrically connected to the branches, and the branches of the relative electrodes and the pixel electrodes are extended to the contact bars of the pixel electrode contact bars and the relative electrode contact bars.
