PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic endoscope apparatus capable of generating and displaying an autofluorescence image presenting the same subject to that of a regular image and having a high image quality in real time by a dimming control in a single image-pickup optical system. SOLUTION: A table memory 52 stores a plurality of dimming tables, or data for adjusting the position of an aperture 38, so that a white light incident on a light guide 34 becomes an appropriate quantity. When a mode selection button 44 sets a plurality of image modes simultaneously generating the regular image and the autofluorescence image or a pseudo color image mode, the white light and an excitation light are alternately incident on the light guide 34 a field period at a time from a light source part 32. The light quantity of the white light is reduced to prevent a halation of the regular image by the control of a CPU 36 based on a TWIN table or a MIX table read out from the table memory 52 and a luminance signal from a processor-side image signal processing circuit 48.
