Coating processes are often to be employed only locally. Here, it is not always possible to use local coating processes, so that masking frequently has to be used. The protective layer (7) according to the invention contains a binder and titanium oxide and can, according to the invention, be used as diffusion barrier so that the coating material is supplied only locally in a coating process. The binder is converted into carbon before coating.
