<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a wide light emitting field and light receiving field while downsizing an optical module and an optical module array, and further to reduce a variation in reception sensitivity due to a change in an incident angle. <P>SOLUTION: The optical module includes a light receiver including a light receiving element and a condenser lens integrally molded, an optical filter for selecting a wavelength or polarization of a light signal received by the light receiver, and a support frame for supporting the filter to be positioned on the front face of the light receiver. The support frame is formed lower than the top of the condenser lens in such a height that the light receiving field is not disturbed by the support frame in receiving the light signal incident to the light receiving element through the condenser lens.
