<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a sampling timing control system in which precision of sampling timing can be enhanced without requiring a complicated circuit for increasing the sampling period additionally when a reproduction signal is sampled at the receiving section of a mobile station. <P>SOLUTION: A demodulating section 4 detects, frequency difference information indicative of deviation in transmission/reception frequency between a base station and the demodulating section 4. An error generation period monitoring section 5 determines, an error generation period from the frequency difference information and an actual error generation period from an error detection signal. Correlation between both error generation periods is checked and if they are correlated, a timing signal for sampling of an AD converting section 2 is subjected to shift control using a sampling timing control section 8 and a phase selecting section 7.
