LIGHT SOURCE OF IMAGE FORMING DEVICE, AND LIGHT GUIDE PLATE USED FOR IT, AND ITS MANUFACTURING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source of an image forming device that can reliably prevent defects such as breakage or short circuiting of light emitting elements when forming them, and also provide a light guide plate used for the light source.

SOLUTION: The light guide plate 1 has a clad 24 having at least a thin groove 22, a core 15 which is made of a light transmissive material of a refractivity higher than the clad 24 and buried in the thin groove 22, and a filmy cover layer 13 formed integrally with the core 15 and covering the upper surface of the partitions 23 between grooves 22 of the clad. In this configuration, since there are no level differences on the upper surface of the light guide plate 1 as in the past due to the hardness differences between the core 15 and the clad 24 in the polishing process, the light emitting elements 30 can be formed well on the upper surface of the light guide plate 1.
