PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable an easy and flexible setting of a conversion source color and a conversion target color even within a limited user interface of an imaging apparatus, and to enable the desired color conversion with a simple operation at the time of imaging. SOLUTION: In the imaging apparatus having an imaging section and an image processing section for processing image data obtained in the imaging section and a recording section for recording the image data output from the image processing section, a conversion target color value is acquired from a coded image included in the image data fetched by the imaging section. Also, a frame is displayed on an electronic view finder screen being displayed based on the image data output from the image processing section, and according to a predetermined operation input, the color value in a conversion object is decided based on color information included in the above frame of the image currently displayed on the electronic view finder screen. Then, in a color space, a color conversion parameter of the above image processing section is set so that a color in a predetermined range including the color value in the conversion object is converted into a color in a predetermined range including the above conversion target color value.
