PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide imaging apparatus and method in which the impact of a disturbance mixed into a photograph image during valve (open) photography can be eliminated. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus comprises a means for reading image data, at a predetermined interval, from a device (12) for photograhing a picture, discrete frame memories for storing each image data read from the imaging device by the image reading means, a means for specifying at least one of the frame memories, a means for deleting image data stored in a frame memory specified by the frame memory specifying means, a photograph image storage means (14) for storing image data stored in the frame memory by accumulation, and a preview image generation means (16) for displaying the preview of image data stored in the frame memory on the display by accumulation.
