PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic transmission capable of preventing dust from intruding into a drain hole without using additional dedicated parts. SOLUTION: In the automatic transmission wherein the drain hole 22a is formed on the upper wall surface 22b of a valve body 22, an operation lever 34 constituting an operation member 31 is positioned on the vicinity of the upper wall surface of the valve body 22, the drain hole 22a is positioned on a lower part of the operation lever 34, and the operation lever 34 covers an upper part of the drain hole 22a when a manual valve 30 is switched at least to a driving range D position.
