PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a solid electrolytic capacitor capable of obtaining the solid electrolytic capacitor having good capacitor characteristics and reducing the ESR of the obtained solid electrolytic capacitor, while realizing the improvement of manufacturing efficiency by omitting re-conversion treatment. SOLUTION: This manufacturing method of the solid electrolytic capacitor comprises the steps of forming a solid electrolytic layer by supplying a polymeric liquid containing a monomer constituting an electrically conductive polymer, a proton donating polymer, and a water soluble polymer onto the surface of a valve metal substrate constituted using a valve action metal on its surface including an exposed part wherein a dielectric layer is not formed, and polymerizing the monomer in the polymeric liquid to form the solid electrolytic layer, repairing for forming a dielectric layer in at least the exposed part, and forming a conductor layer on the solid electrolytic layer.
