PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a storage system capable of selecting an operation mode of the storage system appropriately during power failure in accordance with a battery level. SOLUTION: The storage system can be operated on the basis of an operation mode which a manager has set out of (A) a memory backup mode, (B) a destage mode, (C) a USP mode, and (D) a remote copy mode.
