PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately and safely count components arranged on the same plane and held by a component holding member in a short period of time. SOLUTION: The apparatus for counting the number of the components 202 held by the component holding member 201 comprises a magnetic resonance tomographic imager 101 for imaging the tomographic image of the component holding member 201 on the basis of radio waves from a nucleus after the end of a magnetic resonance state, and a computer 104 capable of specifying component images in the tomographic image imaged by the magnetic resonance tomographic imager 101 and counting the number of the specified component images.
