PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To establish a process for manufacturing an aluminum can, which simultaneously meets conflicting requirements of preventing a brown spot from forming in the center of the bottom part of the inner surface in a rinsing and drying step for chemical-conversion-treating a bottomed cylinder body, washing it with industrial water and then with ion-exchange water and drying it, and of preventing a zirconium film from causing cohesion failure in a neck-flange-forming step; and to provide a method for using an existing manufacturing line for the aluminum can with few changes. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the aluminum can having no chemical conversion coating in the inner surface side comprises the steps of: forming the chemical conversion coating only on the outer surface side without treating the inner surface in the chemical conversion treatment step, when forming the chemical conversion coating on a metallic substrate with a bottomed cylinder shape for the aluminum can; rinsing the aluminum can in a normal rinsing process; and rinsing the aluminum can with a rinsing water prepared by mixing an adjustment water with ion-exchange water so as to make the electric conductivity as 9 to 20μS/cm, at 5 to 50°C.
