The training arrangement includes a rigid, curved screen (A) placed behind a table tennis table to return balls hit at the screen by a player. The arrangement also includes a ball return arrangement comprising a two overlapping plates (B,C) mounted below the table for conveying balls to a tube (D) that provides the balls to a tray (E) at the feet of the player. The training arrangement also includes a ball distributing assembly including an inclined plate on which balls drop towards a firing mechanism driven by a small rotating motor that actuates a paddle wheel that lifts a tongue so as to release one ball every two or three seconds at a point chosen by the player.
