METHOD FOR EXCHANGE OF BOBBINS AND DEVICE FOR PERFORMING THE SAME

A textile machine has a bobbin change assembly (10) with first and second bobbin holders. The machine further has a mechanism linking the ribbon (14) discharging from the first bobbin to feed ribbon (18) to the second bobbin. The assembly also has a station (37) that takes up and removes any ribbon that is surplus to requirements from either ribbon. After removal of surplus, these residues are compressed into a bale for disposal.
