<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve porosity of a catalyst layer in a membrane electrode assembly for a fuel cell. <P>SOLUTION: The manufacturing method of a membrane electrode assembly for a fuel cell includes processes in which ink 10 for the catalyst layer which is made by dispersing a catalyst material in a solvent is supplied to a spray device 20, and a coated layer 30 containing the catalyst material is formed by spraying droplet mist 12 on one side surface of an intermediate supporting body 40 to make a dried coated layer 32 by an ensuing drying precess, and the dried coated layers 32 are placed each facing an upper face and a rear face of an electrolyte membrane 70 and the intermediate supporting bodies 40 are overlapped on another and heat-pressed by a hot press 60, and the coated layer including the catalyst material is transferred to the electrolyte membrane 70. A drying temperature shall be 110°C or higher and 170°C or lower, a solid concentration of the ink for the catalyst layer 8.5 mass% or more and 15 mass% or less and a distance between a top end of a nozzle and a surface of the intermediate supporting body 55 mm or more and 90 mm or less. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
