PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wavelength tunable light source with a larger wavelength tunable range. SOLUTION: The wavelength tunable light source is constituted of a tunable filter for varying the wavelength of a spectrum peak of intensity transmittance and a plurality of semiconductor amplifiers optically coupled with the filter and having different wavelength regions of a gain spectrum.
