PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an intermediate transfer belt which has superior transferring ability and does not cause any crack or breakdown even when a lot of prints are made at a high speed. SOLUTION: The intermediate transfer belt is for use in an image forming apparatus in which a toner image is firstly transferred from an electrophotographic photoreceptor to the intermediate transfer belt, and further secondly transferred from the intermediate transfer belt to a recording medium. The intermediate transfer belt contains a volatile substance in a range of from 10 to 10,000 ppm as an average concentration of an entire intermediate transfer belt thereof.
