PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To develop an optical fiber cable suitable for a mounting property on a structure or the like, even though there is technology which utilizes an observation result of Brillouin scattered light of the light incident to the optical fiber cable laid and fixed on the structure, especially, as the technology for detecting minute deformations of various structures, such as concrete structures. SOLUTION: The optical fiber cable 2 (2A) is provided with an optical fiber housing part 5, which is flat in cross section and includes an inside optical fiber 4 for detecting the distortions in the longitudinal direction is buried and housed in resin for forming a cladding, and a pair of tension member housing parts 6, where both sides in a longitudinal direction in cross section of the optical fiber housing part 5 bulge and the tension member 7 is embedded and fixed in the resin for forming the cladding. The optical fiber cable 2 (2B) is provided with a tension member housing part 6a with an optical fiber 8b for temperature compensation embedded and fixed. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
