PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic tire excellent in processability on its production, and in addition, having a high durability and a good stability of bonding property of steel cords with coating rubber. SOLUTION: This coating rubber for covering the steel cords is provided by using a rubber composition obtained by blending 1-10 pts.mass sulfur and 0.1-10 pts.mass compound expressed by general formula (1) [wherein, R is a 1-16C divalent aliphatic group or divalent aromatic group] based on 100 pts.mass rubber component.
