PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To bring brightness on a ceramic coating membrane layer (or a thin interference membrane layer) to be better and reduce damages during carrying and housing a fishing rod. SOLUTION: The fishing rod has an uneven spiral surface 8A on the surface of a rod material, two or more undercoated layers 9A, 9B formed by applying paints on the surface 8 and a ceramic coated layer 11 (or a thin interference layer 12) prepared by physically or chemically forming the ceramic material in a membrane-like state on the surface of a second undercoated layer 9B positioning upside out of two or more undercoated layers 9A, 9B. Three or more overcoated layers 10A, 10B, 10C are formed by applying paints on the ceramic coated layer 11 (or the thin interference layer 12). The boundary face between the first undercoated layer 9A positioning on the underside of the undercoated layers and the second undercoated layer B is formed in a flat face having no uneven spiral face 8A.
